Colleen Pietras, M.D., is a cardiac surgeon, most recently at Yale University School of Medicine. Previously, she was a fellow in heart and lung transplantation at Penn Medicine, a fellow in advanced cardiovascular surgery at Mayo Clinic Rochester, and a fellow in cardiothoracic surgery at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. After earning her M.D. at the Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, she completed her general surgery residency at Waterbury Hospital in Connecticut, where she rotated through Hartford Hospital, Yale-New Haven Hospital, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. She earned her Bachelor’s in Biology/Pre-Med from Russell Sage College and Master’s in Physiology from Boston University. Dr. Pietras has been published in the Annals of Thoracic Surgery and was part of a collaborative book chapter about End-Stage Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support. She has been a reviewer for the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs.
