Partnering is a big deal at the BIO CEO & Investor Conference in NYC, Feb. 6-7

Over the last 10 years, partnering has been an essential driver of the U.S. biotech business, with external partnerships increasing by 152% and tripling in size, from $79.77 billion in 2011 to $201.39 billion in 2021, according to one study.

Over the last 25 years, the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) CEO & Investor Conference has been an essential driver of partnerships, bringing together C-suite leaders in biotechnology with the investment and banking community.

The focus on building collaboration remains as important as ever at this year’s conference, with two days of in-person meetings in New York, Feb. 6-7, followed by two days of virtual partnering.

Of course, there will also be informative education sessions and panels, as well as “fireside chats” with leaders like Praveen Tipirneni, CEO of Morphic Therapeutic Inc.; Kathy Fernando, Senior VP and Global Head of the Partner of Choice Organization in the Business Innovation Office at Pfizer; and Lars Enstrom Managing Director of OrbiMed Advisors.

BIO One-on-One platform brings people together

The matchmaking at the CEO conference will be enabled by the BIO One-on-One Partnering™ platform, an innovative means for bringing together the right people, developed by and for BIO.

“Our technology simplifies the search for and identification of suitable partners, as well as the arranging of meetings with prospective biotech investors and top business development professionals,” says Mackensie Vernetti, Director of Partnering Operations at BIO.

Companies and investors enter their profiles before the conference and can find meaningful matches easily. The platform takes care of organizing your meeting and finding an appropriate time and location at the venue or online.

The One-on-One Partnering platform comes off a highly successful week of service at the 41st JP Morgan Healthcare Conference, a major event for biotech deals held earlier this month. BIO’s One-on-One platform was the main driver for matchmaking at JPM, where its performance included:

  • facilitating 5,700+ meetings
  • listing 1,800+ companies, including 350+ VC/Corporate VCs
  • 2,700+ registered attendees (both in-person and virtual).

For the CEO conference, there are already approximately 500 companies and nearly 200 investors lined up, with more coming.

Company presentations

Along with meeting one-on-one, companies can reach a larger group with their message and an explanation of what they’re doing through a Company Presentation session at the CEO & Investor Conference. Company Presentations are 13-minute presentations given by senior-level executives. They showcase a company’s pipeline, R&D activities, business objectives, and investment goals. For the 2023 CEO & Investor Conference, the presentations can be given in person, virtually, or both.

There are already 140 company presentations scheduled, and you can add your company too. You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to make your next big deal.
