Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb was named Governor of the Year for 2023, an award presented by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) to recognize governors’ efforts and commitment to the state’s biotech development.
During his tenure, Governor Holcomb has contributed to the growth of life sciences in Indiana and pushed for greater biotech innovation.
“It is an honor to be recognized for Indiana’s commitment and support to the future of biotechnology and the life science sector,” said Governor Holcomb in a statement.
“Policy decision-making at the state-level is critically important for the future of biotechnology. For years, Governor Holcomb has been a steadfast supporter of the life sciences in the Hoosier state and of the researchers, scientists, and others who make innovation happen,” said BIO CEO Rachel King.

Gov. Holcomb’s dedication has helped the growth of life sciences in Indiana, which as a result had a massive impact on the state’s economy. The industry currently employs over 160,000 people across 2,000 companies.
